About Allison

I've been teaching Pilates for over 20 years. I founded Gumption Wellness in New York City in 2009 and spent the next decade building a practice rooted in Pilates, the MELT Method, and rehabilitative strength training, helping clients move better, recover from injury, and feel at home in their bodies.

I completed my 700-hour Classical Pilates certification while working with clients at the Guerlain Spa inside the Waldorf-Astoria. I hold certifications through Romana's Pilates, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the MELT Method, the Slow Burn Method, and the American Heart Association. I've also consulted on fitness devices including Tye4, Push-Up Pal, and Head Floater.

After 11 years in New York City, I moved to Madrid to earn my MBA and Masters in Business Analytics & Data Science. Today I work as a data analyst at a global scientific publishing company while continuing to coach clients. It's an unusual combination, but I've found the two sides feed each other: the analytical work keeps me sharp, and the movement work keeps me grounded.

I now live in Amsterdam with my family. I train clients online via Zoom (I still love seeing my NYC clients!) and in person locally.
